Wife and kids went out of town. This is a bittersweet feeling, as I will miss them terribly, but will also have a chance to get a lot of things accomplished, so god bless the lovely spouse for this opportunity- much appreciated. Activities this week will fall into 3 categories:
• Business/web projects.
• Home Improvement
• R&R
Armed with only my trusty bicycle and a brain full of ideas, I will get stuff done and avoid the "B word" (boredom). Day one will consist of planning and set-up. Wish me luck.

Maxx!
Maxx got his glasses today and is being pretty receptive. Nobody else in our immediate family wears them, so this is a whole new world to us. I was not able to convince him that he'll now have X-ray vision, but I think he's going to be just fine.
Finally
I've been working on this project all week & finally finished this morning- so happy it doesn't have to spill over into the weekend.

Oh my...
I had a realtor over last Friday, to give me some suggestions about what I need to fix up around the house- in case we want to try and sell next spring. He was over for about an hour. Most of the talking was done in the kitchen, and went over pretty well. However, I couldn't help but feel something was odd about our conversation (could easily be mistaken for my lack of social skills however).
I realized yesterday what the issue could have been. The magnet below has been on our fridge since the realtor mailed it to us last year. During our conversation, this poor guy had to endure looking at a defaced version of himself. That's right- it's him. This was not intentional, but I know he saw it. I can vaguely remember him smirking as he entered the kitchen. Did he think this was some twisted prank I was pulling? Yikes, sorry dude.

Note to self
I still use email marketing, monthly- even though some may find it annoying. If anything it's just a "hey, how ya doin'- I still exist" message to past clients. I need to read this article thoroughly to maybe get better results however.

Business for Sale?
This domain, website and logo is for sale on Craigslist for $80,000:
Is this a credible deal? How much is The Logo-Mat worth?
Google+
I joined Google Plus last week. I like the layout and the interface- seems easy to navigate and I've appreciated most things Google (gmail, maps, etc.). However, I don't know if it will replace Facebook. I'm not even sure it is supposed to, but kind of has that feeling. Plus, (pun intended) who still keeps up with MySpace? Maybe this is the natural progression of social media. If you'd like a decent rundown on all of the cool features of Google+, read this article.

Missing Milwaukee
I went to college at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. I miss Milwaukee often, as it fueled my first real feelings of freedom. Above is one of the spots I remember skating while living there. Other things nostalgic: Spotted Cow Ale, Pizza Shuttle, Brady Street & Lake Michigan.
7 Tips On Starting a Business
3. Surround yourself with positive people.
When you’re considering a new business, you probably have some doubts swimming around in your head, and being around the wrong people can fuel those doubts. Additionally, you might be thinking that you don’t have what it takes to succeed as a business owner. Through networking events or other business gatherings, get around other entrepreneurs who have made it. This will help you see that you don’t have to be someone special to be a successful entrepreneur, and it’s also great for making connections and getting advice that can help you in your business. More than anything, getting some positive feedback and encouragement from people who have been there can help to squash any fears or doubts you have.

Damn Squirrels
I'm hoping my makeshift scarecrow will keep the critters out of our tomatoes.
I got in trouble with the BB gun, so this is plan B.

Movie Review
Due Date: I fully enjoyed this movie. Sure, it was a lot like the Hangover and I'm sure it didn't get great reviews, but I love both of these actors and laughed a lot while watching it- that's the point right? There were some unexpected cameos and not too much purely stupid humor.
As odd as it sounds, my self perception lies somewhere between these two characters/actors. Kind of charming, kind of chubby. Kind of funny, kind of annoying. Maybe that's why I enjoyed the flick so much. Reardless- it's worth renting.

Billy the Barber
Last month I bartered some business cards + design w/ with a friend of mine in barber school. Last night, we finally got around to getting my haircut in return for the cards. I have to admit- I was a little nervous about getting my dome clipped by an aspiring artist, but he honestly did an awesome job- best haircut I've ever had. I strongly suggest his services if you live in STL, kudos to Billy the Barber!
