My wife, kids and I all saw Brave when it arrived to theater months ago and we really liked it. To me however, it didn't really shine until we rented it over the weekend to revisit. I will go out on a limb here and say after seeing probably every Pixar film released- this is my favorite. I believe this is due to the fact that it avoids several tactics/premises that have become the Pixar "formula".
1) The main character is a female (that successfully keeps the boy audience entertained)
2) It isn't based on an existing fairy tale/fable.
3) There isn't the usual Main Character w/ goofy sidekick.
The character development for animation- is unmatched, and the story unique. If you haven't seen it...you should!
